Navan Grade 1 saved

Following the cancellation of Sunday’s meeting ar Navan (December 12) due to a covering of snow on the course, Horse Racing Ireland has announced a revised programme of races at Navan the following weekend (December 18-19).

The Navan Novice Hurdle (Grade 1) (2 ½ miles) will be included on the Saturday 18th December programme to form a seven race card.

The Proudstown Handicap Hurdle (Grade C) (2m7f) and The Future Champions (Pro-Am) Flat Race (Grade 2) (2m) will both be included on the Sunday 19th December programme.

However, the 2011 Membership ‘The Ideal Xmas Present’ Handicap Hurdle (Rated 80-102) (2m 6f) is deleted from the programme which will now be a seven race card.

Both of the above meetings will now close for entries on Tuesday 14th December and in the case of the Navan Novice Hurdle (Grade 1), this race will revert to original entries and fresh forfeits/supplementary entries must be made for this race by 12 noon on Tuesday 14th December.

The time of the first race on both days will be 12.15pm.

Dundalk – Friday 10th December (already scheduled) – first race 6pm (last day of the Flat season).

Cork – Sunday 12th December (subject to an inspection on Saturday 3pm).

Cork - Monday 13th December (transferred from Tuesday 14th December).

Punchestown - Tuesday 14th December (John Durkan Memorial Steeplechase – Grade 1 race).

Fairyhouse - Wednesday 15th December (Hattons Grace meeting rescheduled from Saturday 11th December).

Clonmel - Thursday 16th December (rescheduled from Wednesday 15th December).

Downpatrick – Friday 17th December (already scheduled).

Navan – Saturday 18th December (already scheduled, now includes The Navan Novice Hurdle -Grade 1).

Navan – Sunday 19th December (transferred from Saturday 4th December now includes 2 Grade races from Sunday 12th December).

Thurles – Sunday 19th December (already scheduled).

Gowran Park - Wednesday 22nd December (transferred from Friday 10th December).
