Neon Diamond sparkles under Kennedy The Gordon Elliott trained Neon Diamond made a winning reappearance when easily opening her account over flights in the Killarney Grand Mares Maiden Hurdle. Placed once from four previous starts over flights, the former Limerick bumper recorded a second career win when scoring readily under Jack Kennedy. Racing second for much of the contest. Neon Diamond headed leader Regards To Rose after two out (usual three out). With the final flight being omitted, Neon Diamond went clear from the last (usual two out), to win by nine lengths from Jetaway Nana. Regards To Rose had no more to offer from two out, eventually finishing a well beaten third. Gordon Elliott said: "She had a couple of good runs but has been disappointing to be honest. "It worked out today and it is great for Liam Clancy, her owner, who owns the Abbey Hotel and sponsors Donegal football. They have a big week ahead next week and it is a pity he couldn't be here today although his sisters are here, which is great." Additional reporting by Thomas Weekes.
