Onlymammycanloveme (15/2) defied top weight to win Cork's Hibernian Hotel Mallow Handicap Hurdle over three miles.

Up 7lb after winning over 2m4f at this venue last month, the Vendangeur chestnut came from off pace under Tiernan Power Roche who recently rode out his claim.

Making relentless headway down the near side in the home straight, the winner jumped to the front at the last and went away to score by three-and-a-quarter lengths from West Is Awake

Winning owner/trainer Seamus Neville commented "The plan was to come late, although maybe not quite as late, but he got there. He finished well and very strong and he stays.

"I thought they had gone a fair clip for three miles and he didn't seem to lie up early on, but had the stamina to get home.

"We thought all along that he is more of a chaser, but we had jumping problems this year and it took a while to get those ironed out. It was then late to go novice chasing, so he'll do that next season instead, and I'm hoping he will make a nice staying chaser."
