New Chairman for Cork Racecourse Mallow

The Board of Cork Racecourse Mallow announced today that Mr. Denis Cronin has decided to step down as Chairman from July 1st 2006 and that current director, Mr. Joe Walsh TD will take his place. Mr. Cronin is to remain on the Board of Cork Racecourse Mallow as a very valued director.

Mr. Cronin has been Chairman of Cork Racecourse Mallow since its inception in 1996 and throughout the hugely successful development of the present Cork Racecourse Mallow facility.

Incoming Chairman Mr. Joe Walsh TD praised Mr. Cronin 'for his unrelenting dedication and commitment during his time of office, especially during the formative years of the current racecourse' and 'wished him well for the future'. He also thanked the Board for their confidence in appointing him Chairman and committed to continuing the work begun by his predecessor.

The Board also expressed 'their sincere gratitude to Mr. Cronin for his expert stewardship of Cork Racecourse Mallow in its formative years and for his pivotal role in developing the racecourse into the thriving facility it is today'. They also 'wished him well for the future and look forward to his continued valuable input as a director in the coming years'.

The Board welcomes Mr. Walsh to the role of Chairman and look forward to the benefit of his vast experience and expertise in the future.
