New trainer McCutcheon starts 2014 with win Evanna McCutcheon, who will take over the training of Prix De L'Abbaye winner Maarek this season has ridden a winner in Oman. McCutcheon was representing Ireland in the H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak Ladies World Cup 2014 and won the opening leg of the series at the Al Flaij racecourse in Oman today. Her mount Secret Treasuour ran out a comfortable winner of the twelve runner one mile contest. McCutcheon who is a tenant at Barry Lalor's Silverfort yard in Fethard Co. Tipperary has 18 horses in training for the up-coming season including a 'smashing bunch of two-year-olds.' Star sprinter Maarek is reported to be back in light work following a well-earned break after his Autumn exertions.
