No Decision On Song Champion Bid Connections of Soviet Song are in hurry to decide whether to commit the mare to the Emirates Airline Champion Stakes on Saturday week.Should the six-year-old try for a sixth Group One success it would be the first time she has run over a mile and a quarter.Owned and bred by the Elite Racing Club and trained by James Fanshawe, Soviet Song has a Group Two victory to her credit this season and was runner-up to Spinning Queen in the Sun Chariot Stakes at Newmarket at the weekend.'She seems to have come out of the race well,' said Elite's racing manager Matthew Budden.'I don't know about the Champion Stakes, it's still early days. I think we'll see what happens, see what stays in the race and make a decision then.'As for asking Soviet Song to run beyond a mile, Budden added: 'It's something that has often been thought about with her.'Obviously all her races have been up to a mile but there's every chance that she would stay a mile and a quarter.'She does seem to be staying on more than quickening this year.'The Champion Stakes is the only option we've got for her at the moment and no decision has been made about retiring her.'(C) PA Sport
