No King George for Noland After running a cracker yesterday, Noland has been ruled out of the William Hill King George VI Chase at Kempton on St Stephen's Day. Paul Nicholls' charge delighed connections when chasing home stablemate Pepe Simo in an all-weather bumper at Kempton on Tuesday but plans to return there on Sunday have been shelved. Writing in his exclusive column at www.betfair.com/paulnicholls the trainer said: "We were highly delighted with Noland's comeback run at Kempton yesterday. But, having spoken to owner John Hales this (Wednesday) morning, we have decided that Sunday's King George will come just too quick for him. "He will miss the race and go for a 2m5f handicap chase at Cheltenham on New Years Day. "He ran far better than I thought he would on Tuesday, and it was great to see him perform so well on his first time on a racetrack since winning the John Durkan in December 2008. "He will have entries in the Ryanair and the Gold Cup at The Festival."
