No National For Far From Trouble

Far From Trouble will not be seen in action in either the John Smith's Grand National or the Irish equivalent as preparations have been held up by a leg infection.

The JP McManus-owned charge had been a leading fancy for Aintree's four-and-a-half-mile marathon having returned to action with an emphatic success over timber last month.

Far From Trouble subsequently travelled over the Irish Sea with a view to running at the Cheltenham Festival, but plans had to be scrapped after he picked up the troublesome infection.

Explaining the current situation, Frank Berry, racing manager to McManus said: 'Far From Trouble won't be going to Aintree or Fairyhouse.

'The leg infection he picked up at Cheltenham is proving slow enough to clear and we've decided that he wouldn't be ready in time for either race,' he told the Racing Post.

Far From Trouble was an impressive winner of the Galway Plate last summer and had been allotted 10st 10lb in the Grand National.
