Kingscliff is reported to be in top trim despite the horse drifting on the betting exchanges on Sunday morning.

The nine-year-old is the 4-1 favourite with both William Hill and Ladbrokes for the totesport Cheltenham Gold Cup but was available at nearly five times that price on the exchanges.

However, Sally Alner, wife of trainer Robert, said: 'The horse is absolutely A1.

'We turned him out in the field on Saturday afternoon and he had a good roll and galloped away.'
