In his absence trainer Dermot Weld relies on Pale Mimosa who was only seventh in the Irish St Leger on her latest start. The star turn among the 15 entries is Estimate, the Queen's winner of the Gold Cup at the Royal meeting and who boasts an unbeaten Ascot record. Godolphin are double handed with Ahzeemah and Colour Vision whille Aidan O'Brien also has two entries in Ernest Hemingway and Eye Of The Storm as has John Gosden (Aiken and Caucus). Saddler's Rock is on target to represent John Oxx while Times Up (Ed Dunlop) Biographer (David Lanigan) and Harris Tweed (William Haggas) are other notable entries. The field is completed by Johnny Murtagh's Royal Diamond and Sir Mark Prescott's Cesarewitch fifth Pallasator.
