Nolan Hoping For River Run

Paul Nolan is still hoping Cloone River will make the line-up for the Queen Mother Champion Chase at Cheltenham.

The 10-year-old had been well fancied for the Victor Chandler Chase on Saturday week but Nolan ruled him out of the race after he aggravated an old problem falling at Galway on his last outing in July.

However, Nolan is bullish about Cloone River, a general 12-1 chance to win the Queen Mother Chase, recovering in time for the Prestbury Park feature in March.

He said: 'We are working hard at him and he´s getting loads of physio.

'He had a terrible fall - a washing-machine fall - at Galway and he did real damage to his back.

'We thought he was bob-on and he worked very well but he just tweaked a muscle again.

'We´ll do our best to get him there though and, hopefully, we will,' he told At The Races
