Numbersix Heads Home Numbersixvalverde is in top shape as he travels back to Ireland after his brilliant success in the John Smith's Grand National at Aintree on Saturday afternoon. The winner of the Irish equivalent 12 months ago was given a textbook ride by Niall 'Slippers' Madden to lead over the final fence and beat Liverpool specialists Hedgehunter and Clan Royal by six lengths and one and a quarter lengths respectively.'He is in good order this morning and it was a great performance yesterday ? I was very proud,' County Kildare-based trainer Martin Brassil told PA Sport.'He is on the way back with me now and he won't be arriving back into the port until 6pm.'That will be it for the season now and we'll bring him back next year to try and do it again.'The 10-year-old's victory in the world's greatest steeplechase emerged from a first Aintree runner for Brassil, and a first ride at the track for Madden. However, Madden had to keep any celebrations on Saturday night low-key as he is riding in Ireland this afternoon. He said: 'I'm feeling brilliant today but I was on a late flight back last night as I am riding in Tramore.'We just had a few drinks late on when we got back but I will probably have a bit of a party tonight.'I saw a replay of the race at the track and it was great.' ?
