Numidia 'pops up' again for Lawlor Numidia bounced back to winning ways over two miles at Dundalk today, for trainer Peter Lawlor. Rory Cleary bounced out to make the running on the seven-year-old but he was headed by Miss Australie approaching halfway. Numidia reclaimed the lead turning for home and skipped a couple of lengths clear going to the furlong marker. He stayed on well in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter success over Echinacea. It was his first success since scoring here almost a year ago. Lawlor said: "He pops up once a year like Father Christmas! "I was planning to go hurdling with him all the time, but we tried him out here today. There's not too many two-mile events anyway. "He got it handy there for most of the way around, he wasn't hassled that much. He relaxed away and finished off well." (Quotes by Michael Graham)
