Numidia bounced back to winning ways over two miles at Dundalk today, for trainer Peter Lawlor.

Rory Cleary bounced out to make the running on the seven-year-old but he was headed by Miss Australie approaching halfway.

Numidia reclaimed the lead turning for home and skipped a couple of lengths clear going to the furlong marker.

He stayed on well in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-quarter success over Echinacea It was his first success since scoring here almost a year ago.

Lawlor said: "He pops up once a year like Father Christmas!

"I was planning to go hurdling with him all the time, but we tried him out here today. There's not too many two-mile events anyway.

"He got it handy there for most of the way around, he wasn't hassled that much. He relaxed away and finished off well."
