O'Brien Sets Sights On Cox Plate Aidan O'Brien has seven horses in contention for Australia's Group 1 Cox Plate after the first round of acceptors. O'Brien trained the winner of the prestigious contest in 2014 when Adelaide was successful in the hands of Ryan Moore and last year the Ballydoyle representative Highland Reel finished a gallant third. Highland Reel is again in the mix along with stablemates Oder Of St George, Bondi Beach, Hit It A Bomb, Idaho, Long Island Sound and Sir Isaac Newton. The Aus$3million 2016 William Hill sponsored Cox Plate takes place on Saturday 22nd Oct at Moonee Valley racetrack in Victoria.
