O'Brien dominates Derrinstown Entries Aidan O'Brien is responsible for nine of the 13 entries for Sunday's Group 3 Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial at Leopardstown, a race he has won with such stars as Fame And Glory, Yeats, Dylan Thomas, High Chaparral and 2001 winner Galileo who himself sired seven of the potential line up. Idaho is O'Brien's most likely runner at this stage and the trainer said: “We’re looking forward to running this weekend - Idaho was second in the Ballysax Stakes — he ran quick and well from the back and got to the front, but he got tired in the last 50 yards and we think he has progressed since then.” Of his other entries O'Brien stated: “Shogun is a smart horse - he ran well in the Craven — He was unlucky not to be second — we think when he steps up to a mile and a quarter — he’s going to improve. Deauville is in good form—— so wherever he gets good ground he will go.” The sole English entry is the recent Newmarket scorer Ventura Storm trained by Richard Hannon. Dermot Weld has entered last October's Leopardstown Maiden scorer Tirmizi while Jim Bolger is responsible for a pair of entries, Moonlight Magic and Saafarr, both owned by Godolphin.
