O'Brien fires in double through Magnum Cor Just the three runners went to post for the Kilsaran Race at Bellewstown and it was 10/11 favourite Magnum Cor who got the better of market rival Abbotsford. The latter did a lot of the front-running and was tracked throughout by Magnum Cor. In the final 150 yards, Magnum Cor ground down Abbotsford and kept on best to beat him by three-quarters of a length. This was a second victory in a row over an extended mile-and-a-half for Magnum Cor who also scored in maiden company at Roscommon last month. He brought up a double for Joseph O'Brien who was also responsible for Duchess Of Kenli (6/1) who was partnered by Julian Pietropaolo in the fillies' handicap on the card. Joey Sheridan said: "It was only his third run, so he just needed a couple to waken him up. He actually picked up quite well on the ground and was a nice winner at the line. It is quite dead, soft ground, but a bit of class got him through it. "He handled it (ground) and he is probably a horse that will get a bit further. He could go out in trip, he'll get a mile and six (furlongs) no problem. He's only getting the hang of things now. He's still a little bit green while winning, so hopefully he will keep coming forward plenty which I think he will."
