O'Brien returns from suspension The apprentice title race gathers momentum at Dundalk tomorrow evening as Joseph O'Brien returns after over a month on the sidelines through suspension. The teenager has served a total ban of nine racing days for three separate incidents which included four days for careless riding at the Listowel Festival as well as excessive use of the whip at both the Curragh and Listowel. Despite those setbacks, O'Brien is still just three behind reigning champion Gary Carroll and Ben Curtis, who are tied at the top of the apprentice table on 36 winners apiece. O'Brien has a strong book of six rides on the polytrack tomorrow, notably Memphis Tennessee and Long Live The King for his father Aidan in maidens. There are five meetings left at the Co. Louth track before the season finishes up on December 10.
