O’Donoghue has high hopes for Somary Curragh trainer John O’Donoghue is setting clear plans for his promising runner Felix Somary. Felix Somary’s Winning Debut and Next Target Curragh trainer John O’Donoghue is hoping Sligo winner Felix Somary can develop into a stakes performer this season. The Acclamation colt made a successful debut earlier this month and could bid to take another step up the ladder at Roscommon next Monday. Connections have also entered him in Group 3 company at Leopardstown in October. “He’s going to go for a winners race in Roscommon (September 1st) and I’ve put him in the Killavullan Stakes,” said Donoghue. Ground Preferences and Future Prospects “He’s got a big action, and easy ground would be no trouble to him. He should be a proper mile type for next year. The Roscommon race just falls at a nice time and if there is a little bit of ease in the ground, we’ll run him there. I wouldn’t run him on quick ground.” (Additional reporting by Alan Magee)
