O'Farrell flies the flag overseas Jockey James O'Farrell was an ommission from the list of names on our recent article on Niall Kelly's selection as this year's Irish representative in the Fegentri Series. O'Farrell was infact the first Irish amateur to win the Fegentri Series - Jason McKeown and Donal MacAuley both subsequently followed up with further Irish success in the series. O'Farrell, who has ridden 27 winners in Britain since leaving Ireland four seasons ago, has had considerable success overseas resulting from his Fegentri Series win. Along with winning the Swedish Champion Hurdle, O'Farrell was crowned Champion National Hunt Jockey in Norway in 2010 even though he continued to ride in Britain. Last October O'Farrell won the Grade 1 American Grand National in Far Hills on Percussionist for Norwegian based connections. Thomas Weekes
