Followers of the Gerard O'Leary stable will have been on good terms with themselves after Bear Profit brought up a double for the County Kildare trainer in Division ll of the Bulmers Live At Leopardstown Handicap.

Successful earlier on the card with Love Billy Boy O'Leary recorded a brace as the 14/1 chance stayed on best under Dylan Browne McMonagle to beat Artful Approach by half-a-length.

A course and distance winner last season, the Profitable gelding had been racing over middle distances of late.

Dropped back in trip here, the six-year-old was produced from off the pace to head Killeaney Bear over 100 yards from the finish.

Ger O’Leary said: “It went to plan, and he did something similar when he won here last year.

“A mile and one and the ground was perfect.

“Dylan said he needed something to aim at and once he was passing horses he was enjoying it.

“We’ll find something similar and keep going while we’re healthy. The horses are running great, and it’s pinch ourselves time.”
