O'Regan & Boy see it out best

A comeback from Shammick Boy, a 9,000 Euro foal at Tattersalls Ireland in November 2005 and by Denis Hickey’s Garryrichard Stud stallion, Craigsteel, consigned the well-touted Secret World to his third consecutive jumping defeat in the Betfair iPhone & Android App Novices' Hurdle at Taunton.

Nicky Henderson's Secret World (5-2) was easy to back, while the Victor Dartnall-trained Shammick Boy was sent off the 13-8 favourite and Denis O'Regan set out to make all the running.

A course and distance winner on his previous start, Shammick Boy lost his advantage at the final flight when jumping it marginally worse than Secret World but knuckled down to short-head him on the line.

Dartnall said: "Denis said we should step him up in trip now.

"I've always thought he was a good horse but he's still very green and I probably ran him in bumpers a year earlier than I should have.

"I think Cheltenham will be too soon for him this year so we'll go home and think about things."
