O'Shea wins Victoria Cup Global Village (9-1) burst through horses to win the Betfred Victoria Cup at Ascot under a fine Tadhg O'Shea ride. The Brian Ellison-trained winner had finished third in the Spring Cup at Newbury last time and was always travelling strongly in a race dominated by those drawn low. He hit the front inside the final furlong and was driven out to score from Bonnie Brae (11-1) and King Of Jazz (14-1). Lincoln winner Brae Hill (20-1) ran another fine race in fourth. The winning jockey said: "He was very well prepared for today. Mr Ellison was sweet on his chances, he loved the ground and travelled great. It's a massive bonus when you handle these conditions."
