O'Sullivan hoping Dance Night Andday can pick up more black-type Trainer Ross O'Sullivan is hoping that Dance Night Andday can pick up some more valuable black-type when the mare contests the Group 3 Bahrain Turf Club Desmond Stakes at Leopardstown on Thursday. Already placed at Listed level, the five-year-old finished runner-up over 7f at this track in a similar Group 3 race last month. Despite appearing to face a stiff test this evening, O'Sullivan is hopeful of a big run from the daughter of Buratino: “We’re hoping in a small field to get placed again in Group company, she ran great the last day. “It looks a tough assignment. The track will definitely suit her, she’s won three times there, and the ground will suit her so we’re hoping to poach a placing.” On the step up to a mile he added: “As a three-year-old we were a bit iffy whether she got a mile or not but now two years on, as a five-year-old, we’re hoping that she will get it. “She went to the line well in Leopardstown over seven the last day. “We’re hopeful more than anything. We’re going there with no pressure as she’s been Listed and Group placed. “We’re doing the same again and it would be lovely to get that winning black-type later on in the year.” Additional reporting by Gary Carson.
