O'Brien and Sheridan at double with Count Bezukhov Count Bezukhov held the late thrust of Lord Aus to give Joseph O'Brien and Joey Sheridan a first and last-race double in Listowel. He went off 15/8 favourite for the Jet, Peggy & Eamonn O‘Carroll Memorial Handicap over an extended mile-and-six-furlongs. Sheridan got after his mount in second approaching the bend with more than two furlongs to travel. He was ridden to pass Huff'n'Puff just outside the final furlong and was driven out to account for strong-finishing Lord Aus (10/1) by a diminishing neck. Bay Of Stars was just half a length further back in third at 4/1. Sheridan said: "I had ridden him first time out and I also know him from home. "He gave the others half-a-length leaving the stalls, so had to sit and suffer in the early part of the race. I didn't want it to turn into a sprint, so I had to inject some speed into it and he was good and tough in the end. "I'd say there is another bit of improvement in him."
