O´Brien And Cole Pleased

Aidan O´Brien, trainer of Holy Roman Emperor, beaten a head by Teofilo in the Darley Dewhurst Stakes, was pleased with the effort of his colt.

The master of Ballydoyle said: 'Hopefully, we will meet again here next May.

'He has run a great race today. Mick (Kinane) said it was a bit rough out there today but he has still run really well.

'I think the first two are both very good horses.

'The ground was a worry today. I think it was marginally a bit too soft for him - when he won in France (the G1 Prix Jean-Luc Lagerdere) it was fast ground.'

A further two and a half lengths back in third was Strategic Prince and his trainer Paul Cole was happy.

The Whatcombe handler commented: 'I think we have been beaten by two exceptionally good horses.

'He is definitely a better horse on faster ground.

'I couldn´t really work out what the ground was today after the earlier races but it did seem a bit loose.

'I wouldn´t like say we would have beaten the first two horses but he would have been better on faster ground. He travelled well but just couldn´t pick up on the ground today like he has in his earlier races.

'He will be prepared with the Stan James 2000 Guineas in mind next season.

'Eddie (Ahern, jockey) think he will stay a mile and a half in time. All the horse´s brothers certainly stayed that far.'
