Joseph O'Brien went two clear of Pat Smullen in the title race when Daisy Mountain completed a double on the card for him at Gowran Park this afternoon. Three Bells took over the running after a couple of furlongs in the mile contest and soon opened up a clear lead.

She came back in the straight, however, and O'Brien produced Daisy Mountain to challenge at the two furlong pole.

James Nash 's charge soon hit the front and had things in control inside the final furlong as the well-backed 7/2 favourite (from 13/2) kept on strongly for a cosy four-and-a-quarter length victory over Vasoni

David Casey was representing the absent Nash and said:-

"She's tough and hardy and she seemed to handle the ground well enough. James said she was in good form and she's done it really well."
