The Terence O'Brien trained Consharon Boy beat off six previous point-to-point winners, among 10 opponents, when winning the concluding Raceday Packages @ gowranpark.ie Point-To-Point Bumper at Gowran today.

Ridden by Pat Collins, the Templenacarriga 'points' winner battled gamely inside the final furlong for a length win over 7/4 favourite Monalee

Afterwards O'Brien stated “I suppose he had plenty of experience and he was the most experienced in the race but he's a very genuine horse.

“We were always a bit worried about his wind and after he won his point-to-point we cauterized his palate. That obviously made a big difference.

“He could be a decent enough horse as I'd say that was a decent enough race and there is no reason why he shouldn't progress.

“We might run him in a winners bumper as he's still fresh enough.”
