O'Sullivan back in Ireland with winner on Jonny Mansie Jonny Mansie was another horse to get off the mark for the first time in Division 1 of the Belvedere House & Gardens Handicap Hurdle over an extended three-miles in Kilbeggan. He was down to a basement mark of 79 and gave jockey James O'Sullivan a welcome winner back in Ireland. The last flight was omitted in this staying assignment as three horses departed there on the penultimate circuit. The 20/1 shot was noted making headway over the last flight the field jumped (normal two out) and was swinging away as he claimed the lead on the long approach to the straight. He soon asserted and kicked on to win by four and three-quarter lengths. Tango Theatre picked up a runner-up prize at 25/1 and was 12 lengths clear of Chemdawg (20/1). Jollie Cosmos was a nose away in fourth at 18/1. Declan Queally jnr said: “He’s taken a lot of time. He was weak and babyish, and had been disappointing. “I bought him for John Kirwan to ride and he was gone away on holidays and couldn’t ride him this evening. “I thought a trip would suit him and I felt there was a race in him as he got older.” O'Sullivan has only just returned to Ireland after a stint riding in America while based in Virginia.
