Sent off 7/4 joint favourites for Galway's Race In Pink Raceday On Sunday 26th October Beginners Chase, Ol Man Dingle and Will The Wise were prominent throughout and the former found a little more up the hill to beat his market rival by half a length.

Will The Wise went on at halfway and went a few lengths clear after jumping the last but the Ricky Doyle-ridden winner closed up entering the straight and got to the front well inside the final furlong to make a winning debut over fences.

Runner-up in his only point-to-point and a three-time winner over hurdles last season, Ol Man Dingle was having his first start since March.

Eoin Griffin, who trains the winner for the Dunglen Racing Syndicate, said: "I'm delighted with him and, to be honest, he will improve for the run, so we'd have been happy with a respectable performance coming here.

"He did very well for us up until last Christmas but I was a little bit disappointed with his run (finishing fourth) at the Dublin Racing Festival afterwards. Even though he ran well, I was a little disappointed and then he had a disappointing run at Navan a month later, but we found a little thing wrong with him.

"He seems over that little hiccup and hopefully now we can look forward to a nice novice chase campaign with him. I think 2m4f is his trip and while I haven't thought beyond today, for a trainer like me to have a horse to start thinking about running in good races is a real bonus.

"We will have a more than normal amount of horses in this winter but have a lot of young horses, so we won't be busy with runners until the spring time."
