Connections of Hargam are hoping the French import can develop into a serious candidate for the JCB Triumph Hurdle at Cheltenham in March after his victory at the Prestbury Park track on Saturday.

The Nicky Henderson-trained three-year-old went one better than on his British debut at Cheltenham last month when beating Karezak by a length and a quarter.

"He got the job done nicely. We couldn't have been happier with him," said Frank Berry, racing manager to owner JP McManus.

"I don't know what we'll do with him now yet. The Triumph will be the plan down the road if he's good enough.

"We'll have to see what happens."
