Options open for Chopsticks after overdue win Chopsticks finally found success at Sligo, and trainer John McConnell is already considering a possible future over hurdles. Chopsticks Breaks Maiden in Style at Sligo The John McConnell-trained Chopsticks could eventually end up over hurdles, after he finally made the breakthrough at Sligo last week. Placed numerous times in 19 previous starts, the Zoffany bay impressively dismissed 12 rivals at the Cleaveragh circuit, coming home five-lengths to the good. "Thankfully the handicapper didn't miss it afterwards, he gave him 10lb!" McConnell quipped. McConnell Highlights Versatility and Future Options "I'm delighted for Sean (Dalton, owner), he hasn't had a winner in a couple of years so it was great to get a winner for him. "I don't have the horse that long, he came to me in very good nick (from Shane Duffy). "It was the first time that he broke and got a good position since I've had him. We left the cross noseband off him and I think that might have been a help. He got a lovely ride from Chris (Hayes). "He's probably a mile and a-half plus horse even though he has been running at shorter sometimes. I think he is a galloper and he will probably jump as well, so there's loads of options for him."
