Orr appeals 14-day ban Champion apprentice Oisin Orr has lodged an appeal against the 14-race-day suspension imposed on him by the stewards at Dundalk last Friday, December 15th. He was sanctioned under Rule 214. The text of the enquiry is below. The Stewards enquired into an incident in the straight involving Dancing Doll, ridden by O.J. Orr, Long Journey Home, ridden by K.K. Hennessy, and Vastonea, ridden by M.L. Melia, where Long Journey Home fell. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards found O.J. Orr to be in breach of Rule 214 by riding dangerously and having considered his record suspended him for 14 race days and ordered his riding fee be forfeit. The Stewards also disqualified Dancing Doll from fifth place. The amended result now reads; 1st Sharjah 2nd Tropic Thunder (GER) 3rd Try Again 4th Specific Gravity (FR) 5th Sleepy Head O.J. Orr, rider of Dancing Doll trained by A.J.Martin, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount got tight for room in the straight.
