Toast Of New York has been drawn in stall nine for the Pegasus World Cup at Gulfstream Park on Saturday.

Now seven years old, Jamie Osborne's 2014 Breeders' Cup Classic runner-up is one of 12 runners in the world's richest race, which is this year worth $16million in prize-money.

Toast Of New York had been retired to stud after he suffered a tendon injury, but he returned after more than three years off the track with victory at Lingfield in early December.

Frankie Dettori will ride the Al Shaqab Racing-owned son of Thewayyouare and is set to gain experience of the Gulfstream Park circuit with three rides at a meeting on Friday.

Hot favourite Gun Runner breaks from stall 10, while other leading contenders include West Coast (stall two), Collected (five) and Sharp Azteca (four).

Osborne told XBTV.com: "I'm very happy. Nine is not going to disadvantage us. It should be ideal.

"With Gun Runner on the outside of him, maybe that throws a new dynamic on it.

"Frankie Dettori has been entrusted with the job of steering, my job is to get him there in the best condition possible.

"I wouldn't have him as a 20-1 chance. Let's do battle."

Bob Baffert, who trains West Coast and Collected, won the inaugural running of the Pegasus World Cup with Arrogate, who was drawn in stall one 12 months ago.
