Oscar well supported in beginners chase at Cork

Exciting Oscar has been well backed to open his account over fences at Cork this afternoon.

The Denis Ahern-trained gelding was supported from 13/2 this morning and is currently 5/2 favourite for the two-and-a-half mile contest confined to horses with a rating of 102 or less over hurdles.

He has a mark of 101 over fences and was sixth in handicap company on his return to action at Limerick 10 days ago. Thedancingfarrier has also been backed in the same race. He was 11/1 this morning and is currently 13/2 having been as short as 5/1.

The John Ryan-trained The Little Yank has attracted support in the opening rated novice hurdle, from 16/1 into 15/2, where stablemate Ferdia is currently 5/2 joint favourite with De Lady In Red
