Having won over course and distance in May, the Noel Kelly trained Our Zebo again showed his liking for the venue when staying on best to land the Randox Handicap Hurdle at Downpatrick.

Off the bridle over five flights from the finish, the grey found plenty for pressure, responding to jockey Alex Harvey to go third after three out.

Pushed along to go second after the penultimate hurdle, the 11/2 chance soon headed leader Eternal Angel

Strongly pressed by Rockview Consort on the run-in, the six-year-old kept on well to give his jockey a double on the card.

Alex Harvey said: "Probably the best he ever travelled today. He is a horse that just takes ages to get rolling.

"I had to bide my time and go wide at the top of the hill, but he's one that once you get rolling you can't go taking him back.

"He just grinds it out, so it is brilliant.

"Yeah, definitely (better keeping wide) - he is really hard to get rolling. I'd say the last day in Tramore I was probably 12th turning in and finished third.

"Noel and Jamie and the team have done a brilliant job with him.

"He is definitely (the model of consistency) - he's a funky horse, he does save a bit for himself, but he has all the ability in the world and they are starting to get it out of him now.

"I suppose if I used the stick when I got him rolling, I would end up hitting him 20 times. You have to leave it (whip) as last as you can because all he does is stay going.

"He'll be in the 120s (rating) after that. Noel goes to England a bit, so he might go over there."
