Oxx Ponders Classic Tilt Hazariya could be set for a tilt at the Darley Irish Oaks on July 17 following an impressive success at Gowran Park on Sunday. Trainer John Oxx is considering supplementing the Aga Khan-owned filly to the field for the Curragh Classic after her one-length triumph in the Irish Stallion Farms EBF Victor McCalmont Memorial Stakes. Mick Kinane brought the 7-2 joint-favourite through to lead inside the final furlong and she kept on well to beat Dermot Weld´s Mermaid Island with market rival Tropical Lady a head back in third. 'I may supplement her for the Irish Oaks if the ground is suitable,' said Oxx. 'She likes ease in the ground and needs a step up in distance.' Hazariya has now won three of her four starts this term with connections swerving the Irish 1000 Guineas feeling the filly would be better suited by longer distances. ? PA Sport
