John Oxx has confirmed his Call To Battle as a definite runner for the Irish Derby on June 30th while he could be joined by stable mate Akeed Mofeed.

Call To Battle won twice last year as a 2yo and on his debut as a 3yo finished second to Light Heavy in the Ballysax Stakes at Leopardstown in April.

He was last seen finishing third behind Mickdaam in the Chester Vase last month.

Oxx said at the Curragh yesterday; "Call To Battle will definitely run in the Derby."

Akeed Mofeed on the other hand has yet to make his debut as a 3yo after his early season was hampered by injuries and setbacks.

The son of Dubawi was well fancied for the Newmarket Guineas but was found to be lame in the run up to the race.

He was then ruled out of the Epsom Derby with a strained hock and is still waiting to make his 2012 debut.

Oxx said of him yesterday; "Akeed Mofeed is coming along quite well and we will see how fit he is in three weeks’ time.

"He is having a good spell but it’s a bit of a rush. It is five weeks in total and the first two have gone well. How fit he will be in three weeks remains to be seen."
