PHILLIPS TO MAKE NOBLE DECISION LATE Trainer Richard Phillips is waiting until the last minute before deciding whether to run Noble Lord in Saturday`s De Vere Gold Cup at Haydock. The gelding was made favourite for the Martell Grand National after winning at Haydock in January but could only finish sixth in the Great Yorkshire Chase at Doncaster last time. Should the eight-year-old miss Saturday`s race he could warm up for Aintree with a run at the Cheltenham Festival. His trainer said today: 'We will wait until Friday. 'I`ll have a look at who else is in the race and we`ll see how the horse is then. 'The main aim is the Grand National and if he doesn`t run at Haydock he might go to Cheltenham instead for either the Kim Muir or the William Hill.' On the betting front Blue Square have trimmed the Nigel Twiston-Davies-trained Frantic Tan from 5-1 to 4-1 joint-favourite with Streamstown for Saturday`s race. Blue Square bet: 4-1 Frantic Tan, Streamstown, 6-1 Moral Support, 8-1 Take Control,Young Kenny, Browjoshy, 10-1 The Last Fling, 12-1 Noble Lord, 14-1 bar.
