PUNCHESTOWN FIXTURES MOVED The New Years Eve meeting scheduled for Punchestown will be moved to Gowran Park, it was announced today. The December 31st fixture will now take place at the Co Kilkenny track without the Cross Country QR Steeplechase which has been deleted from the card. The programme will now comprise of a six race card.The move has been forced upon The Turf Club due to the closure of Punchestown whilst work continues on a problem with the drainage system. The course will be closed until April 24th with existing fixtures being reallocated.There was confirmation today that Down Royal will take over the meeting scheduled for Punchestown on January 20th, early next year. The Saturday card will become the second half of a two-day meeting at the Co Down track, whose fixture originally scheduled for January 17th has been moved to January 19th. The highlight of the January 20th card is a Grade Three juvenile hurdle worth #25,000.
