Miss Palm asserted on the run-in to claim the handicap chase as the fog descended on Tramore this afternoon.

The race got underway seven minutes late after a couple of false starts.

10/3 favourite Dog Barrel Hill hit the front four from home but couldn't hold the late charge of Miss Palm.

Andrew Lynch delivered Darrell Deacon's charge to challenge at the last and she powered home in the closing stages to record a two-and-a-half length success.

The Great Palm mare had been third in handicap company on her latest start at Wexford last month and was adding to a maiden hurdle success and two point-to-point wins.

“She has been a good servant to us and hopefully she'll be able to keep going for a while longer,” said Deacon afterwards.
