Palmer hoping Architecture can build on Oaks Hugo Palmer is cautiously optimistic that Architecture will not be flustered by a swift return to the track in the Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot on Thursday. The daughter of Zoffany is the ante-post favourite for the mile-and-a-half Group Two after she finished second in the Investec Oaks earlier this month. Palmer accepts such a brisk turnaround has the potential to become an issue, but her vitality since the Epsom Classic convinced the Newmarket handler to spin the wheel. He said: "I'm not sure she's ever going to run in a Group One when she is a stone clear on the ratings, but that's only relevant if she can reproduce her Epsom form. "Everything tells me she should go on the ground - it was on the soft side in the Oaks - but we are going in with our eyes open as it is a 13-day back-up since Epsom. "We won't know until the chips are down, but she has not given me a moment's concern since the Oaks." Palmer also saddles Newbury Listed winner We Are Ninety, for whom her trainer has long held Ribblesdale aspirations. He said: "She has a different profile to Architecture, in that this has always been the plan. "She's a stakes winner already, but she's got to improve, and she's got to prove she gets a mile and a half and handles the ground. We are very keen to give it a go." Aidan O'Brien has only won the Ribblesdale once - with Bracelet two years ago - and this season goes to war with the well-regarded Even Song, who was third in the Pretty Polly at Newmarket. Chicadoro finished runner-up in that Listed race and is one of two Ralph Beckett-trained runners in contention - the other being Rocaverde. Sir Michael Stoute is also double-handed with Shall We and Queen's Trust, as is John Gosden, who saddles Sovereign Parade and The Black Princess. Beauly is well liked by Charlie Hills, who said: "She has very few miles on the clock and is improving."
