Palmer in no hurry on plans for Covert Hugo Palmer is keen to let the dust settle on Covert Love's magnificent victory at Longchamp on Sunday before making plans for the rest of the year. Winner of the Irish Oaks at the Curragh before being touched off in the Yorkshire Oaks, the three-year-old stepped back to a mile and quarter for the Prix de l'Opera and made virtually every yard of the running under a perfectly-judged ride from Pat Smullen. Palmer is not ruling out a tilt at the Qipco British Champions Fillies & Mares Stakes at Ascot on Saturday week, while a trip to Keeneland for the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf will also be discussed. "I'm feeling slightly dusty this morning, but the filly is on her way home and the reports are that she's in good form," said the Newmarket handler. "The last time I saw her was in the winner's enclosure, so we'll just get her home, see how she is and have a good chat with the owners about what we're going to do next. I'm not ruling anything in or out. "She remains in the Ascot race and if she is to go the Breeders' Cup, the Filly and Mare (Turf) would be the race she'd run in. "She's had quite a long year but if we don't run her again, we're going to lose that weight for age allowance, so we'll see." Covert Love's triumph capped an excellent weekend for the trainer, with Gifted Master landing the £500,000 Tattersalls Millions 2yo Trophy at Newmarket on Saturday. The gelded juvenile is likely to run again this season, with a number of options under consideration. "He is in tremendously good form. He hardly blew afterwards and has taken the race incredibly well," said Palmer. "In many ways he's a pain for us as he's a very difficult horse to train, but with the talent he's got, we'll put up with whatever he wants to do. "I would say he'll probably run again this year. He could go to the Breeders' Cup, there's the Horris Hill at Newbury and I've just put him in the Autumn Stakes this morning."
