Panther skips Irish Derby

Connections of Brown Panther have decided against supplementing their colt for Sunday's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby.

Tom Dascombe's charge gave owner-breeder Michael Owen a day to remember when winning at Royal Ascot last week and is set for a step up in class.

However that won't be at the Curragh - although another Derby is on the agenda.

Writing on Twitter, Owen said: "Restless 24 hours. Been seriously thinking of supplementing Brown Panther for the Irish Derby on Sunday. Decided against it in the end.

"Only 9 days after Ascot could be asking too much. German Derby the following week is a possibility."
