The Enda Bolger trained Park That justified strong market support when staying on strongly to win the opening Spring Two Day N.H. Race Meeting Maiden Hurdle at Kilbeggan.

Sent off 11/10f (from 2/1), the five-year-old son of Getaway was getting off the mark at the fifth time of asking.

Prominent throughout under Jody McGarvey, the gelding headed long time leader Galician Girl after the second last flight. Old Bridge looked a real threat on the run to the final obstacle but had no more to offer over 200 yards out. It was another J.P. McManus owned runner, Powerful who emerged from the chasing pack to get within a short head of Park That at the line.

Enda Bolger, “I’d say he’d be a little bit happier going the other way as he was lugging out a bit to his left.

“He had the winter form to win it. We’ll keep going with him if there is juice in the ground.

“He’s a big boy and is a chaser in the making. He’s a very well-bred horse.”
