Park off the mark on return Ned In The Park proved too strong for his rivals as he made all for a breakthrough success in the Drangan Novice Hurdle Hurdle at Clonmel. The Walk In The Park gelding hadn’t been far away on a few occasions in the past and went to post a 8/1 shot on his return from a break this afternoon. David Doyle, riding for his father Tim Doyle, bounced out in front on the seven-year-old who jumped with enthusiasm. He had his rivals off the bridle two from home, and stayed on well in the closing stages to post a length-and-a-half win over Thisain’tthat. The winning rider said:- "we gave him a break during the winter and it seems to have worked, as he has matured a lot. “At home he is a much nicer horse to do things with and in fairness, he has strengthened up too. "I got it grand and handy in front and he was able to dictate away. He is such a brilliant jumper and quickened over the last two.  "He was behind some of the best bumper horses and then got a hard enough race on his first run over hurdles, which took more out of him than we thought.  "Like almost every trainer around the country, our horses weren't right last winter so we didn't run any but they are back in good order now and we're hoping for the best."
