Pathfork '50-50' for Breeders' run

Jessica Harrington believes there is a "50-50" chance Pathfork will handle the dirt in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile at Churchill Downs in November.

The American-bred youngster is unbeaten in three starts to date, most recently edging out subsequent Beresford Stakes winner Casamento in the Group One National Stakes at the Curragh.

"He's back in full work now and he is being trained for the Breeders' Cup (Juvenile) Dirt as that's a Grade One. He's got to train and he's got to produce the right form on the gallops between now and then, but the plan is to go there," said Harrington.

"He's by a dirt horse but he's out of a Sadler's Wells mare, so I look at it as though he has a 50-50 chance of going on it.

"Hopefully I have a very nice horse and he has come out of his last race very well.

"He's cantering away now and the plan is for him to work on Friday week. We'll see how that goes and then we'll decide whether we work him again the next week. At the moment I think he's going to travel on October 30, which is a week before the race.

"He'll arrive there on the Saturday and he'll do his quarantine period. My plan is to give him a canter on the Tuesday, work him on Wednesday, jump him out of the stalls Thursday, breeze him on Friday and hope for the best on Saturday."
