Patience pays dividends as Kakori finally makes breakthrough Long standing maiden Kakori rewarded connections patience when easily justifying her position as market leader in the Slievenamon Maiden at Clonmel. Despite coming into the race without a win from 10 starts, the Joseph O'Brien trained filly was well backed from 15/8 into 1/1f. Prominent in the early stages, Declan McDonogh went on after racing less than two furlongs. Pushed along entering the home straight, the Newtown Anner Stud Farm Ltd owned three-year-old quickened up smartly over a furlong out. Drawing clear inside the final furlong, Kakori posted a four-and-three-quarter lengths success. PJ Colville, Racing Manager, said: "We have tried a lot with this filly, we have gone every distance and ran in Laytown, so tried a bit of everything. She has eventually got her win and while she isn't ungenuine, we just struggled with her. "She works a lot better at home than she shows on the track but it is just nice to tick a box today, as she is by Le Harvre and out of a Dubawi mare.
