It was difficult to have much faith in Peace In The West after his latest two efforts, the most recent of which came at Down Royal last Saturday. However it seems as if a change in tactics may have worked the oracle as the debutant bumper scorer landed the Best Dressed Easter Sunday Handicap Hurdle with Mark Walsh doing the steering at Cork.

Right 'on the speed' throughout in this two and a half miler, the 12/1 chance ultimately held off the staying-on Coolking by three parts of a length.

Trained by octogenarian, Francis Flood, his son and namesake was on hand to greet Peace In The West at the number one spot.

He explained to the press: "He didn't perform in the North and I haven't a clue what happened to him. A change in tactics might have helped today.

"Mark got the run of the race and that was a big help.

"He'll go for something similar next." (TW & EM)
