Peddlers back in training

Peddlers Cross went back into training on Monday at Donald McCain's Cholmondeley stables following a summer out at grass.

The five-year-old has yet to taste defeat and proved himself to be a top-class novice hurdler winning at Cheltenham and at Aintree.

In the Neptune Investment Management Novices' Hurdle at the former track he accounted for subsequent Punchestown scorer Reve De Sivola and Rite Of Passage, who lifted the Gold Cup at Royal Ascot.

"He came back in on Monday and he looks great," said McCain.

"He's in tremendous nick and has done really well. Maybe he's grown a bit as well.

"He's had a really good summer and spent it in the nearest field to the yard. There's a few come back in this week."

Seen as a top-notch future prospect over fences, it is likely Peddlers Cross will stick to hurdles at least for his first run of the new campaign.
