Perfect Judgement completes Dundalk hat-trick Perfect Judgement completed a course and distance hat-trick in the Put The Fun In Fundraising At Dundalk Handicap. Starting his winning streak just before Christmas, the Stephen Thorne-trained four-year-old followed up three weeks ago and went up 10lb for those two victories. Sent off at 3/1 this evening (9/4 early), the Inns Of Court four-year-old was prominent early under Jamie Powell before soon dropping to mid-division. Making progress and travelling best from early in the straight, the Shamrock Thoroughbreds-owned victor drew alongside Elegant Madame (11/4f) over a furlong from home. Soon edging to the front, the progressive bay only needed to be pushed out in the closing stages to see off his aforementioned rival by a neck. The front pair drew three and a quarter lengths clear of Catch The Paddy (9/2), who attempted to make all, in third. "A strong-run gallop for him to stay on the bridle for as long as possible, and he just cruises into that straight and picks them off one by one," assistant trainer Stephen Mooney commented. "The horse is full of confidence at the minute and it is great to get three in a row with him. Fantastic for the owners and for Stephen. "Jamie is brilliant on him, he has the knack to him. He keeps him on the bridle for as long as he can, and just puts his head down and gallops the whole way to the line. "Jamie was saying that he travels so well into the race, gets to the front, and just takes his time then, so it is giving him a chance to stay within this grade. "We were confident, staying in this grade, that he would go in again. He is going to have to go up in grade now I imagine after this but, the way he is going, he should be well able for it. "Lingfield (on Good Friday) is more than likely going to be on the agenda. As you can see, he is quite a small and nimble horse, and we feel like he would be well able to manage his way around that tight track in Lingfield. It is an obvious consideration."
